Why Not Me?
OptimizeWayne is a student-run incubator at Wayne State University. From May 2018 to September 2019, I developed the organization's branding through graphic design, marketing, and photography. I have worked on the "Why Not Me?" campaign and created promotional graphics and social media content in order to recruit Optimizers for the 2018–2019 Social Innovation Challenge. Working with individuals who are passionate about making a lasting impact in Metro-Detroit has been inspirational. For more information about OptimizeWayne, visit optimizewayne.org.
Quote of the Week
To increase social media engagement and build awareness for the "Why Not Me?" campaign, we promoted former Optimizers and their business ideas through weekly quotes.
Kickoff & Info Sessions
Flyers, digital posters, and event banners were created to promote the Kickoff and Info Sessions. Promotions were shared on Instagram and Facebook through imagery and GIFs.
Social Innovation Challenge
The Social Innovation Challenge brought together Optimizers to participate in a 5-month long program where students were given access to workshops, mentors, and modules to develop their initiatives and social enterprises. At the end, participants pitched their idea for funding. A countdown was created to promote the launch of the Challenge application. Also displayed: Showcase flyers, event banners, and brochures featuring the sponsors and winning teams.
Identity
To further develop OptimizeWayne's identity, our branding reached into the gear worn by the core team at innovation events and promotional tables, as well as business cards.
The Core Team
A fun and engaging way to introduce the core team was to feature the members on social media through graphic bios.
Photography
Capturing moments of innovation at events such as the 2019 Social Innovation Showcase, Social Innovation Kickoff, and OptimizeWayne workshops.
